F\u00edsicamente, los vascos no se diferencian mucho de los pueblos de Europa occidental. No obstante, no hablan un idioma indoeuropeo.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La cultura vasca<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque profesan una fuerte adhesi\u00f3n al catolicismo romano, ya que se encuentran entre los cat\u00f3licos espa\u00f1oles m\u00e1s practicantes, el animismo sigue siendo una tradici\u00f3n predominante. A lo largo de los siglos, las tradiciones vascas han ido cambiando debido al acusado desarrollo urbano e industrial de la regi\u00f3n. La emigraci\u00f3n a Francia y a las Am\u00e9ricas fue reduciendo la poblaci\u00f3n que viv\u00eda en los caser\u00edos. Las costumbres y la lengua vasca comenzaron a desaparecer, especialmente en las ciudades industriales. S\u00f3lo una peque\u00f1a comunidad, en las regiones monta\u00f1osas, bastante alejadas del pa\u00eds habla euskera.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La econom\u00eda vasca<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La tierra vasca tiene una gran riqueza en mineral de hierro, lo que favoreci\u00f3 el r\u00e1pido desarrollo econ\u00f3mico de la regi\u00f3n, aunque tambi\u00e9n es conocida por la agricultura y la ganader\u00eda ovina. El hogar, cuyos edificios son, el caser\u00edo, y la familia tambi\u00e9n desempe\u00f1a un papel importante en la econom\u00eda vasca, y en el pasado exist\u00eda un derecho hereditario tradicional que garantizaba que los bienes fueran heredados indivisos por un solo heredero o heredera.
