Si lo ha probado, seguro que le gusta. \u00a1Y por una buena raz\u00f3n, es la \u00fanica pimienta picante de Francia y tiene la denominaci\u00f3n de origen! <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>El pimiento de Espelette, indispensable<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Contrariamente a lo que se podr\u00eda pensar, el pimiento de Espelette no procede del Pa\u00eds Vasco. Su origen es sudamericano, pero se import\u00f3 al Pa\u00eds Vasco en el siglo XVI. En un inicio, el pimiento de Espelette no se utiliz\u00f3 para cocinar, puesto que se reservaba para fines m\u00e9dicos. M\u00e1s tarde, empez\u00f3 a utilizarse en la cocina para conservar la carne y sustituir la pimienta en los platos. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Descubrir la localidad que da nombre a este pimiento<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>El pimiento de Espelette tiene su h\u00e1bitat en el pueblo vascofranc\u00e9s del mismo nombre: Espelette, en los Pirineos Atl\u00e1nticos.
