1. Downtown<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The town center is a must-see. The typical architecture of the region and the traditional fishing port give the town a real charm. For history buffs, there’s the church of Saint Jean Baptiste. The site of the wedding between King Louis XIV and the Spanish Infanta Maria Theresa. And for those with a sweet tooth, between the macarons de pari\u00e8s (muxu), canougats and the famous Basque cake, there’s plenty to keep you happy! <\/p>\n\n

2. Socoa Fort :<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

After exploring the town center, we recommend a stroll along the coast towards the Socoa fort. This historic site is steeped in history. In particular, it protected Saint-Jean-de-Luz from the Spanish enemy. You’ll also be able to admire a breathtaking view over the town. <\/p>\n\n

Fort de Socoa is a 40-minute walk from the center of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, but can also be reached in 10 minutes by car \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n

3. The great beach :<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Once back in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, I think a little break is well deserved. It’s still a classic, but the Grande Plage is perfect for it. Nothing beats a good snack on the soft sand, to recover from a good walk. <\/p>\n\n

4. La pointe de la Sainte Barbe :<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

I think it’s my favorite spot. Situated on a small rise at the far end of the town, the Pointe de la Sainte Barbe overlooks the town. It offers a magnificent sunset between land and sea. <\/p>\n\n

Of course, there’s much more to discover, but for one day, this schedule will allow you to enjoy the city’s most beautiful sights.<\/p>\n\n
